Whippet Cottage has been set up specifically for whippets and their owners, and tends to suit those looking for a calm, quiet place to stay.

The cottage is just for whippets, and this is very much by design.

Whippets tend to be clean, gentle and comfort-loving dogs, and many owners appreciate a space that reflects that - warm, well cared for, and free from the usual wear and tear that can come with more general dog-friendly accommodation.

It also helps keep things calm and predictable, so both dogs and owners can properly relax.

We understand that many whippets prefer not to interact with unfamiliar dogs.

To keep things calm and stress-free, we don’t allow our own whippets to mix with guests, and we manage the use of the outdoor areas so that everyone has their own space.

We keep things simple and personal.

Stays start from £120 per night, depending on the time of year and length of stay. Please get in touch for availability and pricing.

We usually accept up to two whippets, although three may be possible by prior arrangement. Just let us know when you enquire.

The cottage is designed as a calm, quiet space and is generally best suited to adults. Older children may be considered by prior arrangement.

The courtyard garden is enclosed and attached to the cottage, and guests are also welcome to use the orchard and surrounding field.

We’ve taken care to make these areas as secure as possible, but as with most outdoor spaces, we can’t guarantee they are completely escape-proof. We always recommend supervising your whippet and ensuring you’re comfortable with the level of security.

Whippet Cottage is in Little Ouseburn, a small North Yorkshire village near York, surrounded by beautiful countryside and plenty of lovely walks.

The cottage is fully equipped for a comfortable stay, with fresh linens, a well-equipped kitchen, and a few essentials to get you started.
